Assessment Tools
NCSCE commissions, adapts, helps to develop, and disseminates a suite of assessment tools and resources. We welcome your involvement in our initiatives and your input on the continued development of new resources.
SENCER's assessment efforts are led by Stephanie Knight, director of evaluation and assessment. Knight, professor of educational psychology at the Pennsylvania State University, provides overall leadership for NCSCE's assessment efforts and will coordinate evaluation of the SENCER project. Dr. Knight works with an Assessment and Evaluation Advisory Group with leaders of NCSCE's assessment initiatives.
The Committee on Assessment for Student Achievement (CASA) is a community of educators concerned with the promotion and frequent use of simple, in-class assessment techniques. To get involved, please contact the coordinators, Terry McGuire and Jeannette Haviland-Jones.
NCSCE is part of the Carnegie Academy for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Affiliates Program, an ongoing initiative to encourage and support institutions in the early stages of their commitment to the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL). The Student Assessment of Learning Gains (SALG) assessment tool is an online, customizable instrument that faculty interested in encouraging students to assess and report their own learning may use free of charge.
